With over 30 years of teaching experience, Melanie has instructed at schools like Magic Valley Academy of Music andMagic Valley Performing Arts School.

Education & Training
Melanie has studied under esteemed musicians, including:

• Violin: Julienne Slaughter (Twin Falls), Leah Telford (Boise), Aida Baker (Linfield College), Robert Billups (University of Idaho), and Craig Purdy (Boise).

• Composition: Richard Bourassa (Linfield College) and Dan Buckvich (University of Idaho). She is also a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International.

• Ongoing Education: She continues professional development with Suzuki Strings and the Sun Valley Summer Symphony.

• Piano: Studied under Georgia Blastock (Filer), Margaret Vincent, Barbra Mix (Twin Falls), Sue Miller, and Diane Davis (College of Southern Idaho).

• Guitar: Trained by Ken Reynolds (Twin Falls) and Gene Loranger (College of Southern Idaho).

Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student, Melanie is dedicated to helping you develop confidence, technique, and a lifelong love of music.

For violin, Melanie incorporates various teaching methods, including the Suzuki Approach, while also reinforcing memorization, music theory, composition, technique, perfect pitch, and exposure to both classical and modern styles.

For piano, ukulele, and guitar, she applies the same principles, helping students develop skills in composition, technique, and musical expression.

Melanie is available for live performances and plays in a band in the Blaine County area.
